Hey everyone! I am here to post a new short and easy tutorial on how to make an old vintage window into a mirror. My mom took 3 old windows that my neighbors were throwing away and saved them for me. How sweet of her =) Anyway, here is what you will need:

-Krylon Looking Glass spray paint (around 11 bucks but print a coupon off line for Hobby Lobby or Michaels)
-vintage window
-newspaper
-window cleaning supplies

1. Clean up the window. Make sure it is free of debris and glass is cleaned. Be sure to clean both sides, especially the back side that wont be showing (this is the side you will be painting!). This picture is of the front of the window that I will be displaying on my fireplace mantle.

2. lay news paper down on your work space. Then lay the window down flat on the newspaper (be sure to play it FACE down, the paint will be sprayed on the back side or reverse side)

3. Shake the Kyrlon spaint VERY WELL!! this is important or else it will come out lookign weird. Be sure your glass is dry and clean.

4. spray the reverse side with clean strokes. Allow 1 minute of drying time between each coat (about 5 to 6 coats). The mirrors won't look like store bought mirrors, it will turn out to look more vintage or old just an FYI!

5. allow to dry over night and VOILA! its done!

I have a beachy, rustic theme to my new living room, so this will fit in perfectly with everything! I have two more windows like this that I will be using for another project =)

DIY Chandelier

So today I made my roommate her very own DIY Chandelier. I did the DIYing for her which is ok becuase I love to do this stuff! I got the idea from Brassy Apple (tutorial here )ok so here is what the finished project looks like:

I made one for myself only its black and silver:

ANYWAY, I'm going to tell you the step by step ways to make this fun chandelier! ok so here is what you will need:

-4 hanging flower baskets (got mine at Deals)
-Mardi Gras beads (had mine left over from Mardi Gras but the dollar store should have some)
-tear drop shaped crystal beads (from Michaels)
-Large tear drop crystal (Michaels)
-wire (I used black 20 gage wire)
-wire cutters
-hot glue gun
-jump rings
-optional: spray paint for if you want the black baskets to be a different color

Step 1: lay out your baskets like this:

just pull the chains to the side. connect the two baskets with the black wire

Step 2: pull the chain on basket #3 through the bottom of the basket like so:
then use the black wire to connect basket 3 on top of the other two baskets:

Step 3: flip the 3 connected baskets over and take basket #4 and set it on the top of the 3 and use the wire to connect them:
I was a bad first timer and forgot to take more pictures of the steps. just go to the link above to help you understand better if needed to.

Step 4: after they are all connected, flip back over and hang up somewhere the you can finish decorating.
(picture above from Brassy Apple )

Step 5: take the hanging hooks and hang them on the side of the bottom basket, and remove the very bottom hook. this is where you will attach the large crystal:

Step 6: now its time to have fun decorating! you can decorate how ever you want. Use the hot glue gun to glue what ever colored beads you want on to the baskets. here is what mine looks like up close so you can see the detail:

Step 7: Time to hang it! here again is the finished project!

this is such a fun item to add to any bedroom or, in my roommates case, dining room! hope this was some what easy to understand! if you have any questions feel free to ask me =)
